The earlier you join, the more Voting Points and Reward Points you get every year, for life. No spending required.
One join date, two kinds of points
Your points equal the number of days left until 1 January 2030 on the day you join. You get that same number of points every year, for as long as you're a member.
Every profile earns Reward Points, whether it belongs to a person or to a business, team or community group. Only individuals earn Voting Points. Each person, and each registered organisation, can have one profile.

Tiers are a lasting thank-you for backing us early. Once you have one, it's yours for life.
Our community directories network is free forever. At the start, directories list profiles by join date by default, so early movers rank higher than those who join later.

Businesses, teams and community groups earn rewards from the day they claim their listing.
A tier for life
Claim in 2026 and your profile shows Platinum for good. Claim in 2027 for Gold, 2028 for Silver and 2029 for Bronze. Early claimers also rank higher in our free directories at the start.
Discounts for your team
One point for every day left until the 2030s on the day you claim, refreshed every year. Use them on tools, learning and event tickets in our marketplace.
Each registered organisation can have one profile. Voting stays with people, so organisations don't receive Voting Points, but everyone in your team can join and vote as individuals.

Reward Points work like frequent flyer points. Each product in our marketplace shows how many points you can use and what discount you get, and that varies from product to product.

Reward Points can't be used on advertising, so every advertising sale keeps its full charity share.

From 2027, half of our gross advertising revenue goes to good causes, and members decide where the biggest share goes at our yearly Giving Festival.

Do I have to buy anything to get points?
No. Points come from the day you join, not from spending.
When can I first vote?
At the first Giving Festival, which opens on Giving Tuesday, 30 November 2027. Our 2026 round is shared between our micro-grants partners and the Wikimedia Foundation.
Does using Reward Points reduce my vote?
No. Voting Points and Reward Points are separate. Your Voting Points are never spent.
What happens to Reward Points I don't use?
They expire on 31 December. Your balance goes back to its full amount on 1 January.
Can I have more than one profile?
No. Each person can have one profile, and each registered organisation can have one profile. If you run a business, you can have your own profile and your business can have its own, but only your personal profile earns Voting Points.
Can I earn more points by referring friends?
No. We keep it simple and fair: your points are set only by your join date.
What happens in 2030?
No new points numbers or tiers are issued from 1 January 2030. If you joined before then, you keep receiving the same number of points every year, for life, and your tier stays with you as a mark of backing us before the 2030s began.
Do points have a cash value?
No. Reward Points are a discount in our marketplace and can't be exchanged for cash.
